After a week of a little water the river returned to its Summer level of below a ft. The fishermen who were booked in advance all turned up in great spirit and with high expectations of landing fish.
On Monday the 12th, James Wilson caught a 5lb fish from The Rock Pool on Almont. James proving fish can be caught on a low water. Whilst many wouldn’t have ventured out, he was rewarded with success.
The following day another of James’ party took a 10lb fish from the Greystanes on Dalreoch.
James and his party continued to hook and turn fish for the rest of the week but unfortunately didn’t land anymore. However they had a fantastic week fishing and proved with the right attitude you can still have an enjoyable week even on a low water.
