Wow, what a week! Fifty-two fish landed and top beat in Scotland for two days in the last week of the season!

Monday 26th

On Dalreoch, Jamie Turner had three fish, the biggest at 10lbs from the Greystanes. Alan Wood had two 5lb fish from the Smiddy Wheel and the Craig. John Hannaman and his guest also took five fish between them. Up at Almont, Alan Scott had three, the biggest at 10lb from the Hut Pool. On Bardrochat, John Paton also had a 9lb fish from the Bridge Pool.

Tuesday 27th

On Dalreoch, John Aitken had a 12lb fish from Dangart and a 6lb fish from the Greystanes. Alan Wood had a 5lb fish from The Craig as did Lawrence Brown. On Bardrochat, a 5lb fish was also caught from the Dub but apologies for not having the anglers name!

Wednesday 28th

On Dalreoch, Graham Barclay and Alan Linton took four fish between them, the biggest at 15lbs from the Smiddy Wheel. There was also a 14lb fish caught from the Craig by Victor. On Almont, Brian Robb had two, the biggest 14lb from the Rock Pool. Ian McIlwtaith had three including a 15lb fish from the Flats.

Thursday 29th

Bill Dungavel had a 9lb fish from the Smiddy Wheel on Dalreoch.

Friday 30th

On Dalreoch, Graham Barclay and Alan Linton had further success with another four, best at 10lb from the Smiddy Wheel. Bill Dungavel also had an 8lb fish from Dangart. On Almont, Graham Hooper had three, best at 15lb from The Flats. Colin Hyslop had two fish, biggest at 10lb from the Hut Pool. Alan Scott had four, the biggest 10lb from the Flats.
Ian McIlwraith had a 10lb fish from the Hut Pool while up on the Daljarrock, Billy Morrison had two, biggest at 10lb.

Saturday 31st

On the final day of the season, Jim and son Chris Hopkins had three between them on Almont, biggest being 12lbs from the Rock Pool. Billy Morrison had an 8lb fish from the Hut Pool. On Bardrochat, Kenny MacGregor had an 8lb fish from the Dub.

After a frustating year due to lack of water, so happy to end on a high and with a total of 105 fish for the season. Hopefully next year with the right conditions, we can really showcase the Stinchar’s potential.
